Abstract

This article presents the results of a comparative molecular genetic analysis of the entire genome of the highly pathogenic influenza A virus A/Mute swan/Mangystau/9421/2022 (H5N1). The study was carried out on an isolate obtained from a dead mute swan (Cygnus olor) during an outbreak of infection among waterfowl wintering on the Mangistau coast of the Caspian Sea. As a result of the study, this isolate was identified as a highly pathogenic strain belonging to the H5 clade 2.3.4.4b.
